Huntingdonshire District Council are thrilled to announce the very first 'Wild About Huntingdonshire Festival', a celebration of the nature on our doorstep. This event is being organised by Wild About Huntingdon in conjunction with Huntingdonshire District Council.
This is a free to enter, two day event being held in the beautiful grounds of Hinchingbrooke Country Park from 12 noon to 4:00pm on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September 2024. We already have over 80 different stalls and activities, many of which are free to engage with making them accessible to all.
The festival has several different aims:
to raise awareness about the current crisis facing our natural world
educate our community on actionable steps they can take to contribute to a sustainable future
to encourage residents to engage with a range of outdoor activities including sports, natural science, arts and crafts etc
to give people the opportunity to learn something new by way of a variety of free activities, including educational workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive exhibits
to provide information on further education and volunteering opportunities.
We are proud to be collaborating with esteemed partners such as the Wildlife Trust, the National Trust, Project Abundance, the RSPB, PECT, the Woodland Trust and many others who share our commitment to making a tangible difference.
News and updates are shared on the 'Wild About Huntingdonshire Festival' Facebook page as well as 'Wild About Huntingdon' and 'Hinchingbrooke Country Park' FB pages.
